Here is another iPhone photograph for this week. This is another that I took on my Florida trip. Nothing really fancy but I thought it would look pretty cool as an iPhone background.

iPhone Photograph - Wood Walkway
When I was in Florida a few weeks ago we were walking around Cacao beach and I really liked the way that the wooden walkway looked. I took this picture on my iPhone and found that it worked pretty good as a background image.
Enjoy

iPhone Photograph - Spaceship Earth
One of the things I wanted to start posting are cool images that I have taken on my iPhone. While not the greatest of cameras, I am continually amazed at the quality of some of the images that are taken. Plus, since it is the camera that is always on me, I am able to take more pictures than I normally would.
The first picture I wanted to post is an image that I have been using as my phone background. I took it at Disney World when we were there a few weeks ago and I really liked how it turned out. It is a picture of Spaceship Earth.
Enjoy!

Here Again
Lets try this dance again
It has been a long time since I did a blog post, and I have had a few friends ask me when I planned on starting up again. Like always life gets busy and I had pushed many of the projects and things I was doing off, including the blog. As some of you may know, Domo (the company I work for) started a social experiment where we had to start participating in various Social Media sites and activities. One of the recommended activities is a blog, and in light of that I figured it would be a good time to start posting again.
Game plan
I am going to try and start posting at least once a week, with posts ranging between a variety of different topics. I don't have them all decided yet, but expect to see a lot of images of projects I am working on, drawings or graphics I have done, or photographs I have taken. As I go along, I am sure I will continue to modify or add topics and I am always open to ideas.
So with that said expect to see me posting a lot more often

Weekly Design #14 - 404
Sorry for the late post, but I ended up being a little busier than I had hoped. Since emotional design can apply to just about everything, I wanted to share a small example from a project I am working on. I have been in the process of re-writing my website and as part of that I have had to ensure that everything looks and feels as professional as I can, while still portraying the messages and feelings that I hope to get across. One of the pages I have built is designed around the 'Error 404' message that is given when you browse to a page that doesn't exist. Normally this page is plain and doesn't have any real ties to the website you were looking for. The goal of designing a new site is to give my users a better experience when they hit this page.
The design is plain and clean, keeping consistent with the overall look I hope to achieve for the site. The text is straightforward, but also much friendlier than the computer generated text that is normally displayed. Finally, it offers the users a chance to go the the main page of the site, or to let me know if there might be a problem. All of these factors will hopefully lead to better experiences for those who see the page.
So here is a look at the error 404 page content. Let me know what you think.

Weekly Design #13 - I Love Design
One of the more powerful aspects of a good design is the emotional connection that is formed between the design and the viewer. The ability to effectively incorporate emotional design into any work not only makes the design more memorable, but also changes the way we view it. It also is an aspect of design that can be extremely broad in its implementation, giving the designer more freedom.
For the rest of July, and possibly August, I am going to be focusing on including emotional design principles into the weekly posts. To start things off I thought it would be fun to do a post about how I love design, using the classic "I Love *insert topic here*".
Let me know what you think.
